Clemson Fans Break Up with Bowden

Who would've thought ten years ago that Bowden relationship with Clemson would end? Who would've thought ten years ago that Bowden relationship with Clemson would end?

It seemed like it would be an everlasting love affair. Tommy Bowden had been head football coach at Clemson for almost ten years, and had just signed a four-year contract extension. Clemson and Bowden would be together forever.

But when the football team lost to Wake Forest last week, fans decided they'd had enough. This was supposed to be THE YEAR. After waiting nine long years, Bowden was finally going to deliver an ACC Championship.

But after dropping out of the rankings, and falling to 1-2 in the conference, those dreams had been destroyed. And fans were ready for a divorce.

"Tommy had a good run, but it was time for him to go," says Clemson student Gavin Wait.

Other students agreed. "I think it's a good change. I don't know if it was the right time to do it, but it seems a lot of the players were either for it or ok with it," says Paul Garrigun.

Clemson is now moving on with former assistant Dabo Swinney, and Bowden says he wishes them the best.

So as the school looks forward to this week's game against Georgia Tech, all the can do is hope a new coach will have what it takes to return the team to glory and to the ACC.
