The USC Gamecocks will host nationally-ranked LSU this weekend at Williams Brice Stadium. LSU is ranked number 13 in the nation with a four and one record.
The Gamecocks are not ranked in the top 25, but they do have a pretty good record with five wins and only two losses. Coach Steve Spurrier confirmed yesterday he will be starting freshmen quarterback Stephen Garcia against LSU after Garcia's second half winning performance last week against Kentucky.
Spurrier played down the fact it's a big game for the Gamecocks.
"Let's just go out and see if we can play better than we did last week and not worry about how big this game is," he said.
If the Gamecocks can beat LSU they will be in very good position to become ranked in the top 25 very soon. Kickoff will be at eight p.m. on Saturday.
