The Gamecocks pick up a 4-1 victory over Ole Miss Sunday in the rubber match to take two of the three games in the SEC baseball series. Carolina's Blake Cooper shined throwing a complete game six-hitter and behind four runs in the first two innings in the win.
Cooper's complete game Sunday was the first in his career and the first complete game win for a Gamecock pitcher since Wynn Pelzer's complet game in a win in the 2006 NCAA Regional in Charlottesville, VA. Cooper is 5-3 on the year so far.
The two wins bring the Gamecocks' overall record to 29-11 and 11-7 in the SEC while the loss for Ole Miss drops their record to 25-15 and 10-8 in the SEC conference.
