The USC baseball team is headed to the plains of Georgia this weekend for a three-game Southeastern Conference series with Auburn.

The Gamecocks are coming off of a 7-1 trouncing of archrival Clemson on Wednesday night, and are looking to boost their conference record over .500 after getting swept by Georgia last weekend.

Junior first baseman Justin Smoak will be looking for a mark of his own this weekend as well, as the Goose Creek native goes in search of his 49th career home run, which would set a new all-time mark for Carolina players.

Carolina took two of three from Auburn in Columbia last season, and holds a 27-16 lead in the all-time series between the schools.

Auburn will throw freshman southpaw Grant Dayton against USC on Friday night, while the Gamecocks will counter with staff ace Mike Cisco.

First pitch on Friday is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start and Sunday's tilt is penciled in for 3 p.m.
