Lexington County parents owing money for child support were given one last day to create a payment plan yesterday. The amnesty program was created to give people the oppurtunity to make their back child support payments without the embarrassment of being arrested.
Beth Carrigg, Clerk of Court for Lexington County, says they expected about 300 people Wednesday. Last year they collected $6.9 million in one day.
Anyone who did not show up Wednesday will have a warrant issued and will be arrested according to Lexington County authorities.
