Mike Boulia, creator of Diet Pepsi Max "Nod" Superbowl commercials, won the Cocky award from the University of South Carolina. The award is given to the creator of the best Superbowl commercial every year.
Charles Bierbauer, Dean of the School of Journalism said winning the award takes a special attitude.
"Advertising is a cocky business and you have to have a little edge and enthusiasm so we feel that the cocky award is appropriate for advertising."
Boulia explained the difficulties of putting together the commercial, and students said they appreciate all the hard work he put in.
"The more and more I see it...it was really interesting. I liked it a lot more hearing everything that went into it", said Christina Wilder, a USC advertising student.
Students help rate the Superbowl commercials, and professors say it's a great way to bring the classroom and the real world together.
