The Gamecock baseball team defeated The Citadel 7-4 last night in Charleston.

Redshirt freshman Parker Bangs pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings, with five strikeouts.  The Gamecocks clenched the victory with a four-run eighth-inning.

With two on in the eighth, James Darnell hit a double to left field, bringing in one run and cutting Citadel's lead to 4-3.  Justin Smoak was intentionally walked, loading the bases.  The score was tied after a wild pitch brought Reese Havens home.

In the top of the ninth, Darnell hit an RBI single, giving the Gamecocks the lead.
