Historic Vote Could Mean the End to Another Blue Law

A vote Tuesday could mean Columbia residents can buy alcohol on sunday. Right now, beer and wine can be sold in restaurants but not in stores like Green's liquor store.

"I think it should be passed and I also think they should include liquor. So I would be very delighted to have it and I am voting for that," says Marion Moore.

"I just hope they do away with the blue laws and pass selling beer and wine on Sunday," says Liz Greer.

Overall, voters seemed to just want the freedom to choose.

"I think everyone deserves the freedom to make their own choices," says Marion Moore.

"I think they definitely need to be reconsidered by the state and changed. I just think it will be a small change that will make people's lives a little more enjoyable," says Kimberly Vinci.
