The search for a new USC basketball coach to replace Dave Odom is narrowing. The Gamecocks now have sights set on Western Kentucky's Darrin Horn. Horn, who has just led his team to an NCAA tournament appearance, is now the frontrunner for the head coaching job according to USC sources.
Horn has also led his team to two NIT invitations in the last five years. This year Horn's team made it all the way to the Sweet 16 before losing to powerhouse number one seed UCLA.
Last week the Gamecocks were reportedly looking at Oklahoma's Jeff Capel for the head coach position. Word is Cappell will remain with the Sooners. There is no word yet from the USC Athletic Department on any other serious candidates.
