Gamecock football is back in action with the first day of spring practice. The team has a new coaching staff to help Coach Spurrier's team bounce back from a disappointing season.
Some of last year's returnees are looking forward to the start of practice in hopes of a better season.
"I'm really looking forward to team unity and the teaming coming together to bounce back from the disappointing season we had last year," says sophomore quarterback Chris Smelley.
"Hopefully we can work on things as a team and get better and improve on last year as a whole", says junior wide receiver Freddie Brown.
The Gamecocks will continue spring practices today at 7 PM and Friday at 4:15 PM. The first scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday at 10 AM in Williams-Brice Stadium.
