The transition from war to home can be rough for many soldiers returing home from deployment.
Chaplain Shugart is one of the leaders of The Road Home, a program he says is essential to help soldiers adjust to civilian life.
"We speak to them about the hazards of being in combat...and we hope to make this process more natural for them."
Chief Jack Kotchish served in Afghanistan and returned before the program started. He said many soldiers returning have problems under the surface and The Road Home will help clear up those issues.
"Your brain is somewhere else...I know you're home and you're trying to act like things are normal, but things aren't normal...the problems fester until it becomes a problem for the family."
The Road Home also helps soldiers find jobs and other needs the family may have.
