The University of South Carolina's Dance Marathon wrapped up its 10th year with almost $111,000 in pledges for the Palmetto Health Children's Hospital. Nine hundred students danced through the night, beating all previous dancer totals by over 300.
Many students were excited to give back to those who needed it the most.
"We're only here for 24 hours ya know we do our small part. So I think the overall goal is to make one family go home a day earlier, or an hour earlier if it means getting their kid better", says Gina Gonsalves.
The success of Dance Marathon was an inspiration to all who participated.
"To see 900 of your peers dancing for the same cause for 24 hours, that's really where the power comes for dance marathon", says Michael Williams.
Dance Marathon was held in the Strom Thurmond Fitness Center.
