A 19-year-old Lexington man is being charged in a December crash that killed a state transportation worker says the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Lance Corporal Josef Robinson says Robert Cunningham is charged with reckless homicide in the death of 41-year-old Standra Jones.
Troopers say Cunningham fell asleep at the wheel on Dec. 6 and drove his truck off the side of Interstate 26 in Lexington County.
Jones was struck while he worked on the side of the highway. Cunningham left the scene without stopping.
Cunningham has been released on bail and is facing a maximum sentence of 10 years in prision and a $5,000 fine.
