Hometown: Iva, SC
Minor: Political Science
Journalism aspiration: to be a household name

Brady Brewster knew going into college that she wanted to pursue a career in journalism at USC. She quickly got involved with Student Gamecock Television, a student media organization, and has since created, written, edited and starred in programs for the organization’s entertainment segment, Talk of the Town.

Through being involved in SGTV, Brady recognized that she wants her storytelling to make people smile. While she has a great appreciation and passion for news, Brady aspires to be someone known for making people feel good, and for sharing the sunnier stories in life. Her biggest role model is Ellen DeGeneres, and she dreams of becoming a household name, through “being kind to one another.”

Brady fell in love with writing and storytelling at a young age. She remembers as early as elementary school, expressing her love for telling stories through writing and her outgoing nature. She would sit, even as a child, and watch the five o’clock news everyday with her parents, and she knew that she had to be a part of this storytelling puzzle.

Brady’s love for the television industry as a whole is what she believes is one of her greatest qualities. She is eager to learn, travel and report on many topics, including politics, feature and human-interest stories. She believes that free media is essential to a functioning democratic society, and that it is her responsibility as a reporter to inform and educate people through storytelling.

Brady says DeGeneres inspires her to never give up on her dreams, work hard and by all means, to “just keep swimming.”

Brady is always on the lookout for stories to share and people to meet! If you would like to contact her, please send an email to bgb@email.sc.edu.
