Journalism aspiration: Telling the stories that matter
In a society where great focus is put on all that seems wrong with the world, Caroline Davenport is determined to tell stories about what makes it good. She believes in accentuating the positive and seeks to influence readers through storytelling.
As a young girl, Caroline spent hours filling up notebooks with stories, letters and pretend interviews with celebrities and community leaders. She learned to operate an old Sony camcorder, creating newscasts and imagining she was WIS anchor, Dawndy Mercer-Plank. She watched The Weather Channel almost every day with her dad.
Caroline knew she wanted her resume to read “graduate of the University of South Carolina,” and along the way studied English, nursing and education before deciding to major in journalism. She plans to use her expertise as a multimedia journalist to write about music and art and perhaps report for a television station.
Caroline loves coffee, bright colors and camping. When she's not working, you can find her catching up on a podcast or planning a trip to the mountains. Her passion for dogs can’t go unmentioned as she dreams to one day open a shelter for rescued dogs.
If you would like to contact Caroline or offer story ideas, feel free to email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
