South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is expected to endorse Florida Sen. Marco Rubio tonight at 6 p.m., according to CNN politics. She will make her announcement from Chapin, South Carolina.
This would be an important endorsement for Rubio who, just days before the South Carolina GOP primary, trails second place Texas Senator Ted Cruz by just .3 points, according to Real Clear Politics.
Haley made headlines when she criticized Donald Trump in her response to President Barrack Obama’s State of the Union address in January.
Earlier this month, Rubio also received the endorsement of Tim Scott, a United States Senator from South Carolina.
Rubio is considered by many to be the most viable establishment candidate currently running.
