Executives of Coca Cola picked up the 12th annual Cocky Award at the University of South Carolina Tuesday.  The Super Bowl Commercial Advertising class as the students vote on the best Super Bowl commercial every year.

Advertising Professor Bonnie Drewniany said the class chose the winner based on a few criteria.

"We always look at three things: like-ability, brand identity, and persuasiveness.  We have the students clicking in with the iclickers and at the end of the evening the scores are tallied and the commercial with the highest score wins."

Student Jacquelyn Brown said she favored Coke's Hashtag Make It Happy commercial because it promoted positivity in society.

The commercial focused on the issue of cyber bullying by taking negative messages on social media and changing them into positive messages.

"I think it was just a feel good commercial and that's just something everyone can relate to," Brown said.

Russ Mischner is a USC alumnus and is a senior manager for Coke.  He was excited about accepting the award on the company's behalf.

"It's an honor to be back here, and I'll always be a Gamecock," Mischner said.
