The spotlight of College Football world was on the University of South Carolina this past weekend, as College Gameday visited Columbia.

Students started showing up Friday afternoon to make sure they get a good spot.

"We're not even gonna sleep, we're just gonna be up here all day waiting on GameDay," USC student Garret Lash said.

And he wasn't the only one. Garnet and Black flooded the Horseshoe as Gameday returned to the location for the 3rd time.

"The backdrop, the people, the energy, its picture perfect out there, we traveled around the country for 11 years and when people ask what's the ideal backdrop for gameday and I reference the horseshoe," GameDay producer Lee Fitting said.

And when the wait was finally over, GameDay started. Students were up, cameras were rolling, and the energy levels were high from start to finish. Lee Corso, known for his animated behavior and Gameday picks, put on the head of Cocky, as he chose the home team for the match-up of the Columbia's.

Unfortunately, the streak of the home team during Gameday losing continued as the Gamecocks lost to the Missouri Tigers 20 to 21.

Gameday member and former Georgia standout David Pollack said when he thinks of the Gamecocks, he thinks of solid defense, but after the departure of Clowney and other defensive stars, it's definitely a rebuilding year for the Gamecocks, and said these things take time.

Carolina's next game will be this Saturday against Kentucky.
