The Jewish Community Center showcased the center's best trainers
displaying the best ways to keep a healthy, active lifestyle with its annual J-Fit fair Thursday.
The community center was started by the Jewish Federation of Columbia to provide a place for people of any religion to be active.
Some of those ways included yoga, high intensity level training and TRX training.
The center wants people to attend so they can become more educated on physical fitness and nutrition.
"Number one I know it's good for my health, number two I know it's good for my mental health too," said center regular Joel Sussman.
Sussman comes to the center every morning to work out, citing that it helps him cope with his sleep apnea.
"I think mental health and emotions are tied together. If you don't exercise you're probably going to have a higher risk of anxiety, depression, and those types of things," Sussman says.
Sussman says the education he received at the center helped changed his life when it came to dealing with his sleep apnea. He hopes that through community awareness that J-Fit can change other lives too.
