Richland County investigators are still looking for a suspects involved in a robbery that ended with one man dead and two others badly beaten last weekend.
Investigators say an alleged prostitute who presented herself as "Mariah" met three men at Latino's Bar and Grill in East Columbia around 2 a.m. last Saturday morning. The women then followed the men to a house at 1606 Fairlamb Avenue. Three other men, who investigators believe were contacted by the woman, then came to the house and robbed two of the men. The third was shot and killed.
Regina Thomas, who lives next door, said the fact that no one in her neighborhood heard any shots fired worries her.
"I heard absolutely nothing, that's what boggles me," said Thomas, who claims she was awake in the early hours of the morning on Saturday.
"I'm concerned that nobody heard, or that nobody was aware, of the commotion. Six people out there fighting and shooting and none of the neighbors seem to have heard anything," Thomas said.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department is looking for the woman, described as light-skinned, possibly black or Hispanic, 5'7 to 5'11, 150 pounds, 18-22 years old with long dark hair and a tattoo on her upper chest.
Sergeant Curtis Wilson is encouraging anyone with any information about the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers.
