Scott Walker, Christian Walker's Dad, travels every Spring for the Gamecock's opening day.

Scott Walker, father of USC first baseman Christian Walker, traveled over 600 miles from Philadelphia for his son's 2012 opening day.
Scott enjoys the annual trip and this year also enjoyed watching the Gamecocks beat VMI 2-1.
"It means a lot to be able to see him play," said Scott. "Growing up, me and him spent a lot of time on the field together."
Christian says he understand the distance holding his Dad back from coming to every game.
"It's understandable, you know, it is a 12 hour drive," he said. "But it makes me feel good, makes me excited to be able to look up in the stands and see him there."
As Scott watches his son play, he reflects on the days when he was Christian's coach.
"It's bittersweet being here and not being able to coach him," said Scott. "But he's in great hands and its a great opportunity for him to be playing on the South Carolina baseball team."
