Most of the voters at Seven Oaks Park in Lexington County had the same reason to vote in Saturday's primary election — to get President Barack Obama out of office. And most said Republican candidate Mitt Romney was the best for that goal.
Bill Arledge, a Romney supporter, said he has always thought the former Massachusetts governor was very capable of running the country. But Arledge is mostly concerned about replacing Obama, no matter who wins the GOP nomination.
"He's ruined the country," Arledge said.
Elizabeth Berg said she also voted for Romney because "he had run the last time," though he lost the 2008 GOP nomination to Sen. John McCain. Berg said she is concerned about abortion and stabilizing the economy.
While most voters said they had already decided on their candidate months in advance, Betty Eagle said she was undecided until recent debates. She is most concerned with the availability of jobs and "getting Obama out" but wouldn't say whom she voted for.
