Only the first three floors, the Mezzanine, the main floor, and the 5th floor technology lab, have service now. Level's 1 through 4 are underground with no cell phone access.
Some students think getting full cell phone service in the library is a good idea.
"Right now, the lower floors of the library cuts you off from the world. Cell phone service is necessary," says USC student Ryan Wolfer.
Others think this will be a distraction because the lower levels are considered quiet area's for intense study.
Randy Heard, the Head of Systems at the Thomas Cooper Library, says it's a safety issue in case of an emergency. He also says he believes student's will not abuse the quiet areas with cell phone use once there full service is available.
