Taylor Guerrieri profiles as a top ten pick in this years MLB Draft in JuneBy: Robert Baker
Over 40 Major League Baseball scouts were on hand to watch Spring Valley High School right-hander Taylor Guerrieri pitch against A.C. Flora High School last Thursday.
Guerrieri is being projected as a first round draft choice in this June's baseball draft. His final pitching stats was nothing special, but Guerre impressed scouts with his low 90's fastball.
The story of this game turned out to be A.C. Flora eighth grader Donald Gilles pie who pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win.
"Great feeling, I mean I couldn't believe it but hey my players did the job and I backed them up", said Gilles pie.
Despite being overshadowed Thursday, Guerre still has a bright future ahead of him. He has committed to attend USC, but says he will wait to see where he will be drafted before making a decision.
