South Carolina was able to break its five-game losing streak with 79-73 win over Mississippi Tuesday night.
Sam Muldrow had 23 points and tied his career high of 10 rebounds. This was Muldrow's sixth game with double-figure points and rebounds.
The Gamecocks built an early lead which ended with several threes from Mississippi's Chris Warren. The Gamecocks led at the half for the first time in six games.
Mississippi's Chris Warren had the best showing of his senior year. He had a career-high of 33 points off of eight 3-pointers.
Muldrow hit a 3-pointer and a bucket to put the Gamecocks up 69-55 over the Rebels.
The Gamecocks were 40 percent from the field goals, but an astounding 90 percent at the free throw line, which was the deciding factor late in the game.
USC is try to add a win Saturday when the Gamecocks travel to Georgia.
