I still can't believe I'm in my final semester at USC, but I can't say I haven't seen it coming based on the past few years.
I grew up near Charleston. As a result, I have spent all my college summers as an intern for Charleston's daily paper, The Post and Courier. The first-hand knowledge I've gained about journalism will benefit me in more ways than I can possibly list.
My love for writing initially drew me to journalism. But over time I began to learn that journalism has so much more to offer.
Journalism allows me to meet new people, discover new things and rarely have the same experience twice. Working in news could open infinite doors to opportunities I might have never known otherwise.
Whether I'll stay a reporter forever, I don't know. However, I am certain that wherever I end up will be a direct result of the experiences I am gaining now. I look forward to seeing where my path will lead, one story at a time.
