Share the Light Ceremony to Remember and Care for our Veterans
Posted By: Jordan Michael The Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas hosted a Share the Light Ceremony Friday night at Memorial Park. The ceremony was held to honor the men and women who have served out country. The ceremony included a melody of patriotic songs performed by the Benedict Gospel Choir.
As well as remarks from Mayor Steve Benjamin, the keynote speaker of the night was Colonel Craig Curry, the deputy commander at Fort Jackson.
"They represent the millions of Americans both men and women who have served the republic over the past two hundred years, fortunately this country has been blessed with citizens who take their civic responsibility seriously and have taken up arms and march to the sounds of the guns whenever and wherever freedom has been challenged, " says Craig Curry.
The speakers spoke on the importance of remembering and caring for our veterans.
