Thousands came out to watch the 32nd Annual Columbia Veterans Day Parade, and many of those lining the streets were veterans themselves.
Retired Army Colonel Charles Murray, a World War II veteran and medal of honor winner led the parade through downtown Columbia.
More than 60 different groups took part in the parade including high school bands, ROTC units, veterans and troops from Fort Jackson.
The audience waved their flags and cheered to show respect for veterans throughout the two hour long parade.
