Columbia Events Raise Awareness About Breast Cancer
Survivor and author Heidi Marble talks with fellow breast cancer survivors.

Men and women packed the Embassy Suites last Tuesday wearing pink from head to toe for the annual 'Ladies Night Out' to raise awareness about breast cancer. ,
Heidi Marble, who survived a rare form of breast cancer and wrote an inspirational book about her experience, was the guest speaker. She calls her life a miracle and is thankful she will be around for her loved ones.
"It wasn't my suffering," Marble says. "It was not being able to be a mother to my boy, the thought of dying and leaving my son."
Another event is also helping in the fight against breast cancer which affects one in eight women in the country. Cupcake on Lincoln Street is featuring a special pink cupcake for one dollar. Proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help cancer patients. They have already raised $1000 dollars.
