The popular ESPN College Gameday is coming to Columbia this Saturday for the football game against Alabama.
Gameday will be broadcast from the historic Horseshoe in the heart of USC's campus. Gameday has been broadcast from the South Carolina State Fairgrounds near Williams-Brice Stadium in the past. The South Carolina State Fair will be setting up this weekend, however, so the location had to be moved. ESPN and USC to choose the Horseshoe for a more scenic location.
"This is the chance to highlight the University of South Carolina," USC Athletic Director Eric Hyman said. "When I talk to people that really did not go to school here or are from outside the state of South Carolina, when they come on the campus, they just fall in love with the Horseshoe and they fall in love with the beauty of the place. This is a chance for us to accentuate that."
Gameday will be live from 9:00 am to 12 noon. The first hour of Gameday will be broadcast on ESPNU and the last two hours will be broadcast on ESPN.
