The female members of Gamecock Nation were out in full force this weekend, to play football! Saturday was the 6th Annual Steve Spurrier Ladies Football Clinic. Nearly 500 excited women came out to take pictures with coaches and players, and get autographs.
The participants also learned about football from players and coaches. And the fans were really enjoying learning from the pros.
"I'm excited to learn about football, especially from someone like Steve Spurrier," one woman said.
According to wide receiver Jason Barnes the football players had just as much fun as the fans.
"We love the fans and they love us too, I'd do it again," Barnes says.
Tight End Weslye Saunders enjoyed the time to meet Gamecock faithful's.
"I think it's great because it gives the fans a chance to interact with us," Saunders said.
The participants loved interacting with players and coaches but the ladies said their favorite part of the day was a chance to run onto the field with 2001 blasting through the speakers.
