Harvest Hope provides people with food free of charge and with the number of people needing food growing, events like Food From The Heart are important.
"One pound of food we can turn into seven meals, so if you think about a hundred thousand pounds of food, how many meals that turns into," says Skot Garrick Harvest Hope Communications Manager.
Volunteers prepare carts of food for between 700 and 1,000 people per a day.
The need for food becomes even greater, with students out of school for spring break.
"For a lot of children who are in grade school, two out of three meals that they get every day come during school, so when they're out of school for a week they're gonna come to us in anticipation of that to try to get the extra groceries to have for them," says Garrick.
