Marcus Lattimore, the consensus number one high school running back prospect in the nation, says his goal for this summer is to prove he can be a starter for the Gamecocks next season.
The 6 foot tall, 210 pound Brynes High School senior rushed more than 2,300 yards and had 30 touchdowns his junior year at Byrnes.
USC current starters are not worried about Lattimore aiming to take their places.
USC's leading rusher Kenny Miles says he is not focused on Lattimore.
"That's recruiting. That is going to happen every you, you know somebody new is going to come in. The only thing you can do is to focus on what you got to do to get better and do your job," said Miles.
Senior Starter Brain Maddox is not too worried about Lattimore's stats or his motivation.
"It's nothing, it's nothing to me. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy, but he is a freshman," said Maddox.
Lattimore is set to join the USC football team this summer.
