The Gamecock men's basketball team lost to the Georgia Bulldogs 66-61 at Stegeman Coliseum Saturday even though they led by 10 points with 9 minutes left to play.

Georgia players hit consecutive 3-pointers to cut that lead to one with two minutes to play, then made nine free throws to pull ahead as the Gamecock shooting went cold to win.

Coach Darrin Horn says the team was ready to play and did a good job at the beginning.

"That is probably the best we have been on the road in doing that. We had a couple of stretches, one in the first half and one in the second half when we didn't score and I think that affected what we did on the defensive end," said Horn.

Devon Downey and Brandis Raley-Ross each had 18 points for the Gamecocks.

USC dropped 14-10 overall and 5-5 in the SEC with the loss.
