The non-profit organization Harvest Hope, that provides food for the needy, is expanding to a new location on Laurel Street.

Wachovia/Wells Fargo officials decided to donate $100,000 in an effort to help with the expansion after touring the distribution center.

Wachovia/Wells Fargo employees could be seen donating tons of food to the shelter Thursday.

Harvest Hope board member Mark Zion said the money and help could not have come at a better time.

"With this money we're going to be able to have a huge impact on the people of our community.  We're seeing needs like we've never seen before.  Our demands are up 100% from what they were a year ago.  We're feeding up to four or five hundred individual families a day here," said Zion.

Harvest Hope says they were able to order $20,000 worth of turkey for Thanksgiving this year.
