The rainy days the Midlands of South Carolina has been experiencing mean rain boots have become a vital fashion statement.

"I wear them more out of necessity than how they look. They keep my feet dry," says Ashley a Junior at the University of South Carolina.

The boots do a good job at keeping their feet dry, so a lot of people had their boots on yesterday at the University of South Carolina.

"I look forward to the rain to wear my rain boots," says USC freshman Liz.

Everyone seems to have picked a different rain boot style. Boots that have zebra stripes, coach boots, timberlands, polka dots, pink, blue, and green. So have these boots became a Fashion Statement when it rains?

"Everyone has a different set on so it's cool to look at people's trends with the boots and how they express themselves," says USC freshman Sarah.

Kelly Tabor, the owner of the Good for the Sole Shoe store says that women buy rain shoes more often than guys just for that reason.

"Women take care of themselves better. Women are a little more particular plus these come in a lot of fun colors so it matches any wardrobe," says Tabor.

With the rain sticking around for a couple more days, rain boots are a fashionable investment.

"My other shoes were ruined during the first week of rain so it was an investment," Says Liz.

Weather it's a fashion statement or mere necessity, rain boots and gear provide the protection you need to stay dry while your out in the wet stuff and look cute while during it.
