The 22nd ranked South Carolina Gamecocks travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama this Saturday with a chance to stage the biggest upset in the program's history.  They'll take on the Alabama Crimson Tide, ranked 2nd in the nation.

Players and coaches alike say it is time for the program to stop settling for moral victories and start expecting to play with and beat the top teams in the nation.

Top teams like Alabama.

The team boasts a history of 92 All-Americans, 21 conference titles and 12 National Championships.

The Alabama Crimson Tide has the reputation and the numbers to back it up.  But University of South Carolina senior captain Eric Norwood refuses to let those numbers faze him one bit.

"We definitely want to go out there and be competitive, but I mean we want to win.  That's what we're working for, we're not going down there just to shake their hands and be happy to play in front of 100,000 fans in Bryant Denney Stadium," Norwood says.

When the sun goes down and the lights come on in Bryant Denney stadium this Saturday the Gamecock players expect their team to play loose and take advantage of their role as the big underdog.

"There's really not too much pressure on us because we're number 23 or 24...something like that, [Alabama is] the number 2 team in the nation.  We're ready to just go out there and play with them and just have some fun," says USC Defensive Tackle Nathan Pepper.

The confident Gamecocks are looking forward to having some fun in Tuscaloosa, if the cards fall right, they may return to columbia with a victory Gamecock fans will remember for years to come.

The Gamecocks and Crimson Tide will kickoff at 7:45 p.m. in Tuscaloosa on Saturday and will be televised on ESPN.
