The Gamecocks were flawless through five innings Wednesday night until the Clemson Tigers roared past USC in the sixth inning of the in-state rivalry.

USC starting pitcher Adam Westmoreland gave up five runs in the sixth inning giving the Tigers the momentum they needed to beat USC 12-2.

Westmoreland was 3-2 going into Wednesday's game and pitched five perfect innings, retiring 15 consecutive batters.

The loss puts the Gamecocks at 27-15 on the season.  USC's next stop is Florida where they'll play a three-game SEC series.
