South Carolina took two out of three baseball games from the Kentucky Wildcats over the weekend, lifting the Gamecocks to 18-7 overall on the season and 4-5 in the Southeastern Conference.
On Sunday afternoon, USC starting pitcher Blake Cooper pitched a complete game in the Gamecocks' 4-2 victory. The team broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning with RBIs by Whit Merrifield and Nick Ebert.
The teams split a double-header on Saturday. South Carolina had 25 hits in the first game and held on for a 20-19 victory. It was the most hits for the team since 2007.
In game two, the Wildcats won 5-4 on a walk off home run by Kentucky's Andy Burns.
The Gamecocks' next game will come Tuesday night against The Citadel in Charleston.
